Jamaican Beaches. Picture a Caribbean island paradise. Got it? That vision can be reality on one of the beautiful beaches Jamaica has to offer.

To me, at least, basking in the sun on the shores of a white, soft, sandy beach sounds like a perfect Caribbean island getaway holiday. And there’s no better place on Earth that offers this than Jamaica beaches.

The Caribbean island nation of Jamaica is the 4th largest country in the Caribbean. As such, it is one of the most preferred tourist spots in the world. It shouldn't be surprising that Jamaica offers some of the best beach destinations it the world. These sandy spots include, Turtle Beach, Mallard Beach, Dunn's River Beach, Seven Mile Beach, Cornwall Beach and the Doctor's Cave Beach.

Turtle Beach and Mallards Beach provide great food and have fun filled activities throughout the year, and are known as Jamaica beaches you can go to kind of escape and get away from the pressures of every day life.

Both are near the city of Ochos Rios, but secluded enough to enjoy two of the most serene beaches Jamaica has to offer. One can find a host of hotels a short walk (Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort is only 1/10 of a mile away from Turtle Beach and 4/10 of a mile away from Mallards Beach) from the Jamaican beaches making their pristine seclusion astonishingly convenient.

The Seven Mile Beach is one of the world’s most famous (and one of my favorite!) beach destinations. It is a long stretch (seven miles!) of beach where tourists relax under the sun while being seranade by wandering local acoustic bands.

The beach is lined with several restaurants and bars, as well a plethora of the all inclusive resorts in Jamaica. For example, along this strip of beautiful white sand, you will find two Beaches Jamaica resorts (Beaches Negril and Beaches Sandy Bay), as well as two Couples Resorts (Couples Negril and Couples Swept Away). It is also home to several nude beaches around the Hedonism resorts for the more liberal among us.

For people who are less inclined to bare it all, or have small kids, a more preferred Jamaica beach destination is the Cornwall Beach. Not far from the bustle of Montego Bay, this Jamaican beach is best suited for family outings. The beaches provide a perfect spot for the older boys and girls to catch up with some sand sports like volleyball while the youngest among us can spend time peacefully building (and, if they are like my kids, destroying :-) ) their sand castles.

Similarly, the Walter Fletcher Beach is another preferred destination if you are traveling with small kids as the calm warm waters are ideal for swimming. You can find it right in the middle of Montego Bay, and it's location makes it great if you looking for lots to see and do without haveing to wrestle for your salty piece of land.

Nature’s exquisite beauty can be seen at the Dunn's River Beach. Dunn's River Beach is one of the most famous beaches Jamaica has to offer, if for no other reason than the cruise ships all have excursions to see the Dunn's River Falls the overlook the beautiful area. This area where Dunn's River confluences with the Caribbean Sea provides tourists a spot like no other. The waterfall gives tourists a rare opportunity of enjoying both sea and fresh water ambiance.

This is just a small sampling of the Jamaican Beaches and all they have to offer. Remember this though, the beaches Jamaica provides only enhances the rich culture and heritage of this proud island.
